THE IDEA
A long time ago… I looked at my IKEA TV cabinet and noticed that the DVD player/games console area was the perfect shape to house a hanger bay from episode VI. So I obviously asked permission from my girlfriend to see if she wouldn’t mind me integrating some LEGO into the living room. Once I got the all clear (which was surprisingly straight away) I got on with designing it and purchasing the minifigs. Here is the story of my Star Wars Lego MOC from start to finish.

THE DESIGN
For this I used the LEGO Digital Designer, this was a really great tool and was surprisingly very easy to use. I had no prior knowledge of designing lego on the computer. The design took about 2 months, I mainly worked on this at the weekend. I had 7 version in the end, each version simplifying the design and using as few kinds of parts as possible to keep costs down.
THE DELIVERY
This was the fun part. Trying to save money, tracking packages and that feeling of checking the post box to see what had turned up that day. Only a few things in life beat the feeling of coming home to 12 LEGO heads with beards and moustaches.
